How we began
Desktopashway started when our founder, Ji-yoon Han, spent eighteen months helping her own family reconcile three inherited safe-deposit boxes spread between Suwon, Jongno, and Haeundae. Bank branch logs recorded access times but not contents. She typed item lists at kitchen tables, retyped them when formats changed, and bound the final copies by hand.
Neighbours asked for the same treatment. By 2019 we had two full-time registrars and a small bindery corner in Yeongtong. We still work primarily on paper because clients often want registers that survive without passwords and can be stored beside wills.
Our approach
We describe vault holdings in language your executor understands: branch name, box identifier, key location, and category-level contents. We do not appraise jewellery, photograph certificates, or store copies of your lists electronically unless you explicitly request encrypted delivery.
Each engagement is led by a registrar with at least four years of estate-documentation experience. We read Korean branch correspondence fluently and prepare English registers for bilingual households.

We serve clients across South Korea. Initial interviews for Seoul and Busan accounts are often conducted at the client’s office with travel billed at cost.
